After studying acoustical engineering at Purdue University for two years, Jason came to his senses (as he would describe it), and transferred to Indiana University to finish his undergrad with a degree in design and production.
He landed his first job with a local video production company. There, Jason worked with a wide variety of organizations to craft video stories that create an emotional connection with viewers. In 2011, Jason started an online video project with his friend, J.D. Schuyler, called Craftedspoon – promoting Indiana's local food scene through video stories.
With over four years of experience, Jason brings skills in video production, visual storytelling, motion graphics, and web design and development to the TrendyMinds team. As Video Producer, Jason heads up the video production department – shooting, editing and producing video for a variety of clients.
In his free time, Jason can be found spending time with his wife, Wendy, and their son, Dylan. He also enjoys playing street hockey, soccer, flag football, or any other sport he can join.
In order to accomplish the most with the money and time, I would selfishly invest it all in Indianapolis. I would ask for project proposals that would improve our city, and then I would fund the most brilliant and innovative. I would want to help improve and build on what we are already working toward, and set up a sustainable infrastructure that would allow our city to become a leader in areas such as local food, education, public transportation and the arts. Finally, I would buy and organize a trip for my entire family and extended family for a fun week together at a later date.
I love connecting with people and hearing their stories, and then capturing and telling those stories through video.
I do a lot of weird things while I'm driving, whether it be singing female vocals at the top of my lungs, squealing rip-roaring guitar solos, dancing to heavy beats, or even creating my own dubstep tracks with my voice. Trust me, I'm not good at any of it. It's weird.
Honestly, I would just let it all burn. I think I would feel a sense of freedom to be rid of all possessions for a little while. Any photos or videos I would want are saved online anyhow.
I would be able to fly, and fly so fast that I could time travel. It would be cool to see the earth throughout all of its years... while flying!
If I had my way, it would be Arnold Schwarzenegger a la Mr. Freeze from Batman & Robin. Brilliant one-liners...
I would love to backpack at least part of the Appalachian Trail with my wife and kids. We only have one kid right now, so this would be when we have more and when they are old enough to enjoy it.
My bike and my garden are the most relaxing and energizing places for me to be.
My wife and I would live in Denver, Colorado. We already have a lot of good friends there and also some family nearby. And the mountains are pretty amazing, too.
Ice Hockey. Best sport ever.
