Creative Services / Graphic Design Intern - Ongoing

We're looking for an awesome up-and-coming design intern to work with our Creative Department on various client projects. Could you be the one we're looking for?

  • Do you read Ad Busters, HOW Magazine and Communication Arts for fun? And do you look at the award-winning work and think, "I should submit MY stuff!"?
  • Are you excited when you get "junk" mail because you love critiquing the company's advertising materials?
  • Does the use of the font Papyrus make you want to scream? (And not in a good way?)
  • Can you name at least three design blogs that you love to follow?
  • Are you looking to intern in an agency where you sit in the corner and do busy work, then leave for the day without ever speaking to a co-worker? No? Good. Apply with us.

We treat our interns like (gasp!) people. We've even been known to hire the amazing ones, when the opportunity arises. You'll get direct, hands-on experience, working on actual campaigns for big-name clients that even Grandma will recognize and shaping the foundation of emerging businesses that might just be the next big thing. While we can't promise you'll never have to resize a slew of photos, we <i>can</i> promise you'll walk away from this internship with new work for your portfolio and valuable relationships with our creative staff. Maybe this will lead you to a job with a million dollar salary. Or maybe not. (But if it does, feel free to send us a check to say thanks).

So, what sorts of things might you be creating? Glad you asked, because we just so happen to have a list handy:

  • Logo design
  • Website design
  • Advertising campaigns (print, digital, online, outdoor)
  • Brochures, stationery and business cards
  • Branding and brand standards development
  • Graphic design
  • Building/interior/window signage
  • Direct mail
  • General print
  • Promotional merchandise

Our Mr./Ms. Right should:

  • Be familiar with the wonders of Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
  • Have an eye for detail
  • Be creative. Obviously. But we really, really mean it. Blow us away.
  • Have the ability to follow direction and meet deadlines
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team and play well with the others in the figurative sandbox
  • Have strong design and creative skills in interactive and multi-media
  • Possess a mentality that is detail-oriented and thorough
  • Have outstanding communication skills and a great sense of humor. We have a lot of fun around here, and we want to include you, too.
  • Have a willingness to go above and beyond client expectations. (Um, within reason.)

Mr. or Ms. Intern will need to be able to work at least 15 hours a week. This internship is 10 weeks long and has a one-time stipend paid at the end of the internship.

To Apply:
Please, no phone calls. Seriously, we mean this. Interested candidates should email a resume and portfolio. If selected for an interview, candidates should be prepared to explain, in detail, their involvement in each portfolio project. No need to follow up on your email -- if we think you might be a good fit for us, we'll track you down somehow.
