Sometimes our lives seem to be moving at 1000 miles per hour, which makes time fly past with little room for reflection. However, there are other times where an event is such a game-changer that it acts as an anchor point for many memories. These may be positive events like births, marriage, or other celebrations. At other times they may not be positive, but are equally memorable.
This past year has given me several “anchor points” for memories of my life. (Some of these are becoming cloudier with age.) These last 365 days have taken me on a wild ride.
It all started as a pretty typical... read on
Triskaidekaphobia - the fear of the number thirteen.
Lucky for me, I don’t have such a ridiculous phobia. While some might fear the number, I’ve embraced it. Last month I became the thirteenth member of the TrendyMinds team, and so far I have only positive news to report.
It’s no secret that the TrendyMinds team is growing fast. With three new hires in the last month, we are literally busting at the seams. Growing so fast, that our beloved blue building on the corner of 25th and Delaware has become a tight fit (we might be doing a little real estate shopping on the side… more on that... read on
Did you know that Coca-Cola just wrapped its largest social media project ever? No? Have you even heard of the campaign before now? If you can say yes, you’re probably in the minority.
There’s no reason why we shouldn’t all have heard about Expedition 206 – the scope of the campaign was mammoth. Three brand ambassadors (selected by a public voting contest, of course) visited 186 countries in less than a year to find what made these populations of Coke drinkers happy. The ambassadors documented their trip through blog posts, photos and video, all aggregated on a... read on
The beginning of the year is an exciting time at TrendyMinds. Our pro-bono program is kicking off (for the third consecutive year), and we’re beginning to get to know a new “class” of worthy organizations. This year our program is giving $50,000 worth of in-kind creative, strategic and interactive services to non-profits here in Indiana and around the country. In the past three years, we’ve contributed more than a quarter of a million dollars to nonprofits. That’s a pretty amazing program to be a part of, if you ask me.
Half of the fun of our pro-bono program is the voting process --... read on
Clean code. Every web developer out there knows the importance of it, but are we doing a good job of explaining this to our non-techy clients? Here's a quick primer that can help clients understand the "foreign language" of code and its purpose.
What exactly does "clean code" mean?
Clean code is exactly what it sounds like. The code needs to be free of spelling errors, properly formatted, and contain the correct tags, without any unnecessary tags added. Aside from being an organized and on-top-of-it coder, developers can also utilize HTML validators to check for errors others might have... read on
Every year that a business remains open is truly a blessing. Remaining alive, vibrant and growing for 15 years is an amazing accomplishment. We have been very fortunate to reach this milestone, and we’re extremely grateful to all of our current and past clients, partners, team members and friends that have helped us along throughout the years. Without all of you, we would not be where we are today.
As with any 15 year old, we are still pretty young and plan to do even bigger things as we grow older. However, we have picked up a few pointers along our journey to "adulthood." Here are our... read on

Indonesia has been hard hit recently. In quick succession, a tsunami and then a volcano knocked around the country. Because the Indonesian government is stretched thin trying to house, clothe and feed evacuees, corporations based in Indonesia are stepping in to fill the gaps. In an effort known as “corporate social responsibility” corporations are taking an active role by paying for disaster relief teams.
Sounds great, right? Well, kind of.
One of Indonesia’s largest tobacco companies, Sampoerna (owned by Philip Morris), along with other big-name companies in Indonesia, paid for a... read on
