Attraction is a word we often find being used to describe one’s ability to catch the eye of a member of the opposite sex. For me however, the attraction to work for an agency like TrendyMinds came very early on when the company I recently left was prospecting PR firms to partner with. Our initial meeting with members of the TrendyMinds team impressed me very much. Here was a young, hip group of individuals, full of creativity and experience, vying for a chance to become our partner. With a clear, professional presentation in hand, the TrendyMinds team was able to clearly and concisely... read on

I personally find nothing more exciting than receiving a prospective client’s RFP. I love showing off my agency and communicating how we’re the perfect fit for their needs. There’s nothing more fun than wowing clients under conditions in which the sky is the limit!

Yet as exciting as RFPs can be, they’re also one of the trickiest procedures for an agency to navigate. When it comes down to it, agencies are paid for their ideas. We’re professional brainstormers. Our work is, quite simply, our ideas turned into deliverables. Because these ideas are so important, it’s vital to protect them.... read on

Recently, I was in Miami on vacation and decided to stroll over to Subway for a quick lunch.  Little did I know that frustration and misery were in my immediate future, not to mention hunger pains.

As I entered the yellow and green shop, I noticed four employees on duty prepared to make their famous foot-long subs. Like anyone familiar with Subway, I imagined the service would be quite speedy. After all, Subway is an assembly line style shop and with a well-equipped staff of four manning the appropriate stations (bread, meat, veggie and cash register), I was sure to be in and out in... read on

Last week I was fortunate enough to attend the South by Southwest (SXSW) Interactive conference in Austin, Texas with the rest of the TrendyMinds team. I had anticipated five days of learning, networking and inspiration, and my expectations were high. Everyone talks about SXSW as being the best conference the industry offers -- and it isn't often that an industry conference gains an obsessively passionate following.

    But now I get it.

SXSW was an amazing experience. It was exhausting, to be sure. Sessions run back-to-back from 9:30am to 6:00pm. Your feet are sore and swollen from walking... read on

Printing is kind of like the English language -- very confusing with rules that change under different circumstances. I'm constantly being asked what the difference is and why the costs are so vastly different so I thought I'd write a post to clear it all up.

    OFFSET

You can never go wrong printing with offset... unless you have a tight budget. Offset is the most pricey because it's such an extensive process. The press is enormous -- imagine a machine (much like the illustration) that is so big it only fits in a large warehouse. Each different station prints a different color. The colors... read on

Yes, I'm a 35-year-old brace face. Call me tinsel teeth, railroad tracks, Ugly Betty, whatever! (Even my dentist teases me.) I can handle the jokes as I've been through it before. You see, this isn't my first bout with braces. I've had them once before - during my freshman year of college.

I've been seeing Sondhi Biggs on the north side. They are amazing. The technology they use is unbelievable. They have X-rays, photo progression charts, computer models that plot each tooth's movement, and a lot of other technology that I won't even attempt to act like I understand.  Suffice it to say,... read on

So, the newest discovery in advertising/marketing today appears to be the trust factor? Yep, it is new. You may think you've heard about trust before, but no, you haven't. At least not in the way that some social media experts would like to make you feel you haven't.

While it may be true that your words can spread quicker and that you have the ability to interact with people on a grander scale, getting people to trust you is not a new concept. While the issue of trust could go back to the dawn of time, I'll share my experience with trust as it relates to part of my "business" past.

    Back... read on

I know that the title of this post is a bit "PTL Club meets Dr. Dobson," but I assure you I'm not talking church today. That, my friends, I'm saving for another day. (After I've had a few glasses of wine and am ready to rant.) Instead, I've decided to share my thoughts on the many different players (or playas for some of you) that are stakeholders in business.

In recent weeks I've heard gossip, read stories, examined tweets and talked about various businesses in Indianapolis. All of these businesses (or individuals) have some service to sell or a product to pedal.  But, is someone who... read on
