Triskaidekaphobia - the fear of the number thirteen.

Lucky for me, I don’t have such a ridiculous phobia. While some might fear the number, I’ve embraced it. Last month I became the thirteenth member of the TrendyMinds team, and so far I have only positive news to report.

It’s no secret that the TrendyMinds team is growing fast. With three new hires in the last month, we are literally busting at the seams. Growing so fast, that our beloved blue building on the corner of 25th and Delaware has become a tight fit (we might be doing a little real estate shopping on the side… more on that later!).  But if you ask me, the close quarters are just helping us build team dynamic.

I began my new role as account executive at the perfect time. In the past two weeks we’ve had holiday celebrations, gift exchanges, three-day weekends and two birthdays. While we’ve had our fair share of fun, we’ve also been working around the clock to finish up some exciting (and B-I-G) projects. It may be a quiet time of the year for some, but around here things have kicked into high gear.

My fellow new hires include Ryan Shrum and Todd Kersey, both members of our interactive team. Both are experts at building websites – something in high demand around here! I came to TrendyMinds with a background in social media, health care PR and media relations. I’ve already been able to contribute to our strategic team in valuable ways, and it’s been fun to start meeting our clients. I’m excited to incorporate social media into strategy to produce real, measurable results – not just hype.

As the honeymoon phase comes to a close (no more holiday weekends for awhile, and I have to wait another 365 days for a gift exchange!), I look forward to taking on new projects, helping our clients see success, and making 2011 the best year ever for TrendyMinds.
