It isn’t news that 2009 and 2010 have been less than kind to advertising and public relations agencies. Locally and nationally, several firms have closed their doors or made large staffing cuts in response to their clients’ shrinking budgets and shifting priorities. Yet TrendyMinds has more than doubled its growth in the past year.

In the fall of 2008, the agency had just opened its public relations division, and had a staff of five. Two years later, the strategic services line is booming and the agency employs 11 staff members. The client roster has grown too, including companies such as The American Cancer Society, ChaCha, Cummins, the Kiwanis Club, NASCAR team Kevin Harvick Inc., and the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, just to name a few.

“We’ve found that clients are eager to continue their creative, strategic and interactive needs,” Tyler Murray, principal, said. “But they’re looking for an agency that can handle all of their projects – from web design to branding to media relations and everything in between – in order to be both cost-effective and produce comprehensive solutions.”

The agency found itself in the national spotlight during 2010’s State of the Union address. Last February, the White House (in partnership with the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce) invited Trevor Yager to the State of the Union as a special guest of the President and the First Lady. The White House highlighted the agency for its incredible growth in an economic downturn, and for the company’s diversity and inclusiveness.

“I think part of the reason why we’ve seen so much success is our unique approach to the services we offer,” Trevor Yager, principal, said. “We’re not a task-oriented agency; we don’t just send out a press release or build a website and walk away. We become experts in our clients’ industries, looking for ways to shape their business as a whole to produce the results they need. We see web design, branding, PR and the other services we offer as complementary tools to meet that goal – not as the answer in and of itself. We’re responding to the changing needs of businesses, and it seems to be working.”

The agency, celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. TrendyMinds is currently working on a massive, multi-website design and content overhaul for a well-known company. The project is slated to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2011.

“The future for TrendyMinds is bright. We’ll continue to take on new challenges and grow the business,” Yager said. “We’re always looking for ways to positively impact the industry and our clients, and I hope we’re doing just that.”

TrendyMinds is proud to announce the promotion of Brooke Roche, a nearly four-year veteran of the agency, has been promoted from Designer to Director of Creative Services. She will oversee Creative Services while continuing to coordinate day-to-day tasks and client relations.

TrendyMinds is also welcoming its newest staff members: Seth Benson, Designer; and Brooklynn Moor, Office Assistant.
