TrendyMinds, an Indianapolis-based full-service advertising and public relations agency, has been growing by leaps and bounds over the past year, and is now ready to unveil its latest expansion – public and governmental affairs.

Justin Ohlemiller, a government and political vet who handled Congressman André Carson’s regional Indy operation, will be joining the TrendyMinds team as Chief Communications Officer to kick-start the newly-formed public and governmental affairs services. He’ll also lead advertising and public relations efforts for all clients.

Ohlemiller brings ten years of experience in the political communications to bear as CCO at TrendyMinds. Justin was most recently District Director for Congressman André Carson's Indianapolis office where he served as a point person for the Congressman in the Indianapolis community. Before joining Carson’s staff, he served the chief spokesman and Deputy Chief of Staff for former Indianapolis Mayor Bart Peterson.

“During recent projects, we’ve seen how our services perfectly support clients working in public and governmental affairs. Justin is an amazing fit and we’re so thrilled to bring him aboard to further expand our Strategic Services offerings,” said Trevor Yager, principal. “We’ve expanded rapidly over the past year, and are excited to continue building on that success.”

In his new position, Ohlemiller will oversee the development of TrendyMinds’ public and governmental affairs services, helping clients negotiate lobbying, media strategy, and crisis management. He will also help clients with research, strategy, execution and evaluation by implementing tools from all three of the companies’ main service lines: Interactive, Strategic and Creative.

“Public and Governmental affairs is an area of growth that we’ve been interested in for some time,” said Tyler Murray, principal. “We’ve been able to watch Justin’s work and are very impressed. He is just tremendous at what he does. We think he will position the company well in what we consider an emerging market.”
